Malini Leahy is a teacher in Sault Ste. Marie and was first elected as an executive officer with the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF/FEESO) in 2019 and re-elected in 2021.

Malini was born in St. Thomas, Ontario where she graduated from Central Elgin Collegiate Institute. Upon completing her Bachelor of Education degree at Lakehead University, Malini worked for the Elgin County Board of Education before moving to Sault Ste. Marie in 1994 where she began her career as a teacher with the Sault Ste. Marie Board of Education, now known as the Algoma District School Board.

Malini began her Federation experience as a branch representative at her school, and went on to hold a number of positions on her local executive, including treasurer, benefits officer, educational services officer, vice-president and president. She is a former OTF Governor, provincial councillor, and in 2023 she was elected as one of the vice-presidents of OSSTF/FEESO.
