Socially-based Curriculum Unit
In this unit, developed for CHC2DF (Histoire du Canada depuis la Première Guerre mondiale, 10e année, cours théorique) students will learn about specific aboriginal in Canada. They will research one person and build a convincing speech in order to have this individual declared the greatest aboriginal in Canada.
Most of the greatest aboriginals in Canada are unknown to our students and the general public. This activity will celebrate those aboriginals who accomplished something remarkable or contributed to our Canadian identity.
Each student will present a 3 minutes speech in which they will portray the most significant life events and accomplishments of the person they researched.
Note: Because this unit is for French Immersion, the lesson plans and appendices are all in French.
